- May I request a specific longhouse or room location when I make my reservation? The cast member you talk to at Disney Reservations will be glad to note specific longhouse requests. However, no room requests are ever guaranteed. For best results, ask specifically that your request be noted on your reservation and then send a fax to confirm your request four to five days before you arrive. Send your fax to the attention of Polynesian Resort room assignment at (407) 824-3174.
- What number to call to request a building? (407) 824-2000. Likely going to ask for the Tokelau given it's central location or Tahiti given location near lagoon and transit center. Remember to ask for a room away from elevator and on top floor (to reduce noise) with balcony. Could also ask for lagoon and/or MK view and see what they say. Also could just ask for advice (hey, we'd like to be close to the Transit Center, quiet, and ideally with nice view).
- Room amenities? Looks like post recent room remodel, all rooms have a small fridge. Need to request a microwave when I call to request room and find out if there is an extra charge for internet access or any fees for self-parking a rental car.
- Other questions when I call? Can we freely use American Express throughout the park and at resort? Any way to deal with the ticket vouchers before we arrive (e.g., can I send them and have our 5-day tickets waiting versus having to lug the printed & signed vouchers)? What happens if we lose a ticket? Do we get lanyards or just tickets? Laminated?
- Beach happenings...There is a sand beach on Bay Lake with lounge chairs, cabanas, and hammocks, There is also an outdoor tiki bar. Each night they show Disney movies on an inflatable screen on the beach. They also build a campfire so the little (and some bigger) ones can roast complimentary marshmallows.
- Watching the "Wishes" fireworks at MK. The main pool and beach are probably the best place to watch "Wishes" and other fireworks anywhere on Disney property. The sound track is played through speakers around the pool and beach. There is also a cute electrical boat parade 30 to 60 minutes before the fireworks each night. And the view of the fireworks from the 'Ohana restaurant is also excellent.
- Consider taking a boat to MK rather than monorail. "The boat ride to Magic Kingdom is convenient and special. It is easy to get back and forth for a break in the day."
